About Tooya's B-Grade Products: All products in our store are manufactured and sold under the Tooya or Otowa (Otowa Kiln) brand, and are strictly inspected by professionals. For this reason, 5–6% of the items are classified as imperfect (B-grade), and one or two bargain sales are held each year. These items are highly popular for everyday use.
Please read the following and purchase only if you agree to the terms.

~Regarding Returns and Exchanges of B-Grade Products~
B-grade products are sold at a lower price for the reasons stated above, so they may have imperfections other than those described in the individual product photos.
Therefore, returns and exchanges are generally accepted only for reasons attributable to us (damage during shipping, incorrect item, etc.).
We regret that we cannot accept returns or exchanges for reasons attributable to the customer.
Additionally, we cannot provide gift wrapping or noshi wrapping.
Packaging will be simple (without a box). We will wrap the item securely in cushioning material.
Please place your order only after acknowledging these terms.
~Regarding Inspection Standards~
Below are some of the standards we use when inspecting products.
〇Pinholes
Air trapped in the clay or organic matter (such as dust) during bisque firing may remain as small holes after firing; these are called pinholes. Generally, they are considered acceptable, but we classify noticeable pinholes as B-grade.
〇Iron Spots
Iron naturally present in the clay can oxidize during firing, resulting in black spots on the surface of the ceramic. Many artists and kilns intentionally create these iron spots as part of the vessel's character, and they are generally considered acceptable, but we classify noticeable iron spots as B-grade.
〇Color and Glaze Variations
Because the glaze is applied carefully by hand to each piece, the application may not be uniform. Traces of glaze flow and glaze pooling have long been appreciated as part of a vessel's "landscape," so they are generally considered acceptable, but we classify noticeable variations as B-grade.
〇Deformation
Vessels are formed using a potter's wheel, by hand, or in a mold. Since these are traditional methods involving handcrafting, each finished piece varies slightly; they may not be perfectly round, or their height and size may differ slightly. We consider a certain degree of variation to be part of the vessel's individuality and acceptable, but items with excessive variation are classified as B-grade.

In order to enjoy elegance, careful consideration is necessary. Please keep the following points in mind when using pottery.
●If pottery has small cracks in the glaze, soaking it in clean water for 2-3 minutes before use will help prevent tea stains and food juices from seeping in. If you will not be using the pottery for a long period of time, be sure to dry it thoroughly before storing it.
●Do not put tableware decorated with gold or silver in the microwave.
●Kouchi glaze (a beautifully colored glaze fired at a low temperature) is commonly used for incense burners and ceremonial vessels, but if it is used for tableware, please be careful not to put acidic foods directly on it as it is vulnerable to acids. This can cause discoloration or fading.
